We collect only what we need to run Fair Question Game. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
What we collect
When you buy
Stripe processes your checkout and payment. From that payment we keep your email address, the Stripe payment and checkout IDs, the amount paid and the payment status, so that we can give you access, help you sign back in and handle refunds. We never see or store your card details.
When you play
- Player names you type for a game on one phone stay on that device. In a multi-phone room, names are kept only for the life of the room so everyone can see who's playing.
- Answers in a game are used to run that game and build its recap. If you send a single question to someone with a share link, that link stores the first name you add, your answer and the anonymous answer counts.
- First-party analytics. We count game events (for example: game started, card played, game completed, room joined, share used). These are tied to a random ID on your device, not to your name or email. We don't use third-party ad trackers or analytics in the game.
- Technical data. Your IP address is used briefly to protect the service from abuse through rate limiting. It isn't stored with your game data.
Cookies and storage
If you own the game, one sign-in cookie keeps you signed in on that device. The game also uses your browser's local storage to remember game progress. Stripe's checkout page uses Stripe's own cookies to process payment securely and prevent fraud; see Stripe's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase and access records while you own the game and for as long as we need them for legal, tax and support purposes. Raw analytics events are deleted after about 13 months. Rooms expire on their own once a game ends.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal data. We use service providers to run the game: Stripe for checkout, payments and receipts, and Cloudflare for hosting and our database. They process data on our behalf.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our support page. If we delete your purchase records, access to the game for that purchase ends.
Children
Fair Question Game is family-friendly, and purchases are made by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Player names can be first names or nicknames.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
